Kazakhstan is negotiating with 26 countries on the introduction of a mutual visa-free regime, the press service of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported.
Among the countries with which agreements have been reached are such States as Austria, Saudi Arabia, San Marino and Bahrain. It is not specified on what conditions the visa-free regime with Austria, a member of the European Union, is being introduced. The possible length of stay in these countries without a visa is also still unknown.
Kursiv asked the press service of the Ministry of Culture for information about other countries, and they replied that the issue was «still being worked out», so they could not provide full information.
«If there is an opportunity to add some more (countries), we will inform you,» the ministry said.
At the same time, they are considering expanding the list of countries whose citizens can apply for an electronic visa to Kazakhstan and canceling the invitation requirement. In addition, the issue of simplified issuance of visas for residents of the UAE was discussed.
«Kazakhstan is interesting for foreign travelers, and the Ministry is working to fully unlock the tourism potential of our country. Including by increasing the flow of incoming tourists,» said Moldir Abdualieva, an official representative of the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
Recently, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan announced the introduction of a mutual visa-free regime between Kazakhstan and China. Citizens of Kazakhstan will be able to stay in China without a visa for 30 days from the moment of crossing the state border. Similar rules will apply to Chinese citizens traveling to Kazakhstan. In total, you can stay in another country without a visa for 90 days during a 180-day period.
Last July, Kazakhstan introduced a visa-free regime for citizens of China, India and Iran for a period of 14 days. The total period of stay in Kazakhstan under the visa-free regime for citizens of these countries should not exceed 42 calendar days during each 180-day period.
Earlier this year, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan also increased the period of stay of their citizens on the territory of the two countries without registration to 30 days.
